A POPULAR Easter event that has been held virtually for the past two years due to the pandemic, is set to return to the park it was started it.

Yate Town Council and the Friends of Kingsgate Park have announced their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Bonnet Competition will return this year, at Kingsgate Park, Yate, on Monday, April 18 2022, commencing at 10am.

Parents and children will be able to hunt for the clues around the park in order to receive one of the 800 Easter Eggs given out by YTC Councillors and Friends.

A spokesperson for the event said: "Based on last year’s online Easter Bonnet Competition the standard of entry will be high!

"We cannot wait to see what you come up with this year, which will give the judges a challenge to select the Easter Bonnet prize winners.

"We would like to say a very big thank you the organisations that have donated eggs and money towards making this a really special event for the community of Yate.

"Any leftover eggs will be donated to the local food bank and youth café."

The Town Council and the Friends are also looking forward to te return of ’Yate Rocks!’ the Community Music Festival taking place in Kingsgate Park on June 25 and 26.
