Six guinea pigs kept in poor conditions have been rescued from a farm.

The young males, who have been named Harry, Ron, Malfoy, Neville, Fred and George after characters from the Harry Potter franchise, are now in the care of the Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home.

All arrived in poor health with swollen feet, alopecia, skin lesions and bite marks over their bodies.

They are now on daily medication for their skin issues and also require new housing, bedding and food.

The charity has estimated it will cost £1,200 for them to be looked after until they are ready to be put up for adoption, and are appealing for help in raising this money.

Any amount raised over the cost needed for the guinea pigs will go towards the costs of other animals at the centre.
