SLIMBRIDGE gardeners went head to head in the village’s popular spring flower show.
Taking place in Slimbridge village hall on Saturday, the event included classes for vegetables, flowers, floral decoration, cookery and children’s crafts.
The theme of the floral decoration, cookery and handicrafts sections was the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
Janet Merrett’s produced an excellent display, but it was Carole Jeffes who won the most points in floral decoration classes as well as having the most points in the daffodil classes and the best exhibit with her pot of small daffodils.
Norma Griffiths won the tulip trophy, Steve House the cookery cup and Jillian Tait the most points in the handicrafts, as well as best exhibit for her bunting.
The judge commented on the extremely high quality of the handicrafts exhibited.
Lindsay Evans won the best spring garden border and Phil Sealey had the most points in the flower and vegetable classes and the most points in the whole show.
The children showed great skill with their entries. The junior cup was won by Toby Merrett and the senior cup by Aiden Hall.
