First Bus have announced customers using Yate’s new Park and Ride in May and June will be able to take advantage a number of offers including free tickets to money off vouchers.
Between Monday 23 and Friday May 27, the first 50 customers travelling between 6.45am and 9am each day from the Badminton Road site can snap up a free West of England Day ticket, as well as a voucher for 20% off another Day ticket for future trips.
During half term there will be 70 free Day Group tickets worth £15 each up for grabs each day from 9.30-11am to encourage families to use the service to get into Bristol city centre over the holiday period, as well as a voucher with 20% off a further Day Group ticket to use another day.
The £4.5m new Park and Ride transport hub, delivered by South Gloucestershire Council is served by the Y1 and the Y4, the Y6 also goes past the site and serves Bristol Parkway, Cribbs Causeway and Southmead Hospital.
The new hub is planned to help reduce traffic along the Badminton Road corridor by providing an alternative to car travel.

It’s also part of our commitment to helping deliver a more sustainable future for the communities we serve.”
Cllr Steve Reade, South Gloucestershire Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Environment and Strategic Infrastructure, said: “We are pleased to be working with First West of England to offer people living in and around Yate some great offers in May and June that will give them the chance to experience the convenience of the Park and Ride facility.
Travel advisors will be at the Park & Ride on the morning of 1 June to assist customers and answer any questions and a further team will be on hand throughout the period of the promotion to hand out the free tickets before customers board and advise on bus routes and timetables. They will also be offering giveaways to support sustainable and active travel.
