A WOMAN must pay nearly £2,000 for failing to send a child to school.
Nicola McLellan of Kelston Close, Yate, was found guilty at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
She was charged with failing to send a child to school between March 30, 2021 and September 30, 2021.
This was contrary to the Education Act 1996.
McLellan was fined £1,000 and must pay costs of £790 plus a surcharge to fund victim services of £100.
The balance of £1,890 must be paid at £50 per month starting on July 7.
