Over 5000 people are due to attend Yate's biggest ever music and comedy event and organisers say they cannot wait to open their gates tonight.

A huge selection of acts are set to perform on a festival stage at Yate Town Football Club over the next five days.

Good Times on the Pitch a separate ticketed event, opens with headline act the world's most successful tribute band, the Bootleg Beatles.

The event, sponsored by Pearce Bros Autorentals in Yate has something for everyone with stars from Cbeebies performing live on stage twice on Sunday- due to public demand.

Event organiser James Murden said: "We are beyond excited to present Yate's biggest comedy and music event ever.

"We believe we have something for all of the family- our headline acts includes some of the world best tribute act as well as legendary comedy acts.

"The children haven't been forgotten of course, we have a visit from Britain’s got Talent finalist Titan and Andy and his band the Odd socks- and having seen them, i can confirm they are phenonmenal.

"Our festival site is taking shape  and the whole place just looks fantastic- we cannot wait to kick things off on Thursday night- its going to be a fabulous five days!"

Audience members can take folding chairs or blankets or can sit in the unreserved seating areas in the stadium.

Picnics including soft drinks are allowed to be brought to the site but organisers have said no glass or alcohol can be brought in. However there will be licence bars available.

James added: "We recommend people park on nearby roads but ask that people park sensibly and responsibly, YOSC have offered local parking a ten minute walk away.

Dave Pearce, director of Pearce Bros who are sponsoring the event said: "We are thrilled to be supporting these brilliant music events for Yate, its a fantastic line up and we cant wait for future years as well."
