The helicopter hovered for around an hour
A POLICE helicopter hovered over Yate and the surrounding area for around an hour last night as a number of marked and unmarked police cars drove through the streets.
The helicopter hovered above North Yate for around 45 minutes from approximately 9.30pm but residents in South Yate also reported seeing it circulate on the opposite side of the town.
It could still be heard around 10.30pm.
Two police cars were parked in Estoril, Yate and officers could be seen engaging with the public in the street.
We have approached Avon and Somerset Police for comment.
