The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in Yate and Bristol, which will be in place on Friday, July 22.
Forecasters have issued an update on its yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across much of eastern England, with them now reaching “a little further north and east overall.”
It is expected to last from 10am to 10pm, and covers Yate and Bristol as well as Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
It also covers more areas in the west midlands, south east, south west, north west of England as well as Wales.

The weather warning comes just days after temperatures across the UK have reached the high 30s.
What do weather warnings mean?
In terms of what to expect the Met Office said:
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
- Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
