COMMUTERS in Dursley will have a chance to voice their concerns about bus services in the area.

Organised by Cam and Dursley Transportation Group, the meeting will include a discussion with two Stagecoach West managers following ongoing cancellations and delays due to bus driver shortages.

Gloucestershire county councillor for Dursley Wendy Thomas, said: “We are really pleased that representatives from Stagecoach West are coming to talk to us and residents.

“Whilst the local services have been gradually showing some signs of improvement over the last few weeks, we still see cancellations of key routes.

“It would be good to talk to Stagecoach West about how they can ensure these improvements are sustainable and will result in a reliable bus service.

“We also would like to hear what plans they have to retain drivers and to discuss what planned timetable changes are in the works for the end of August.”

Disruptions to bus services has been a heated discussion on social media.

One commuter said on Facebook: “I think the main question is will the situation ever change?

“This morning the 06.40 was cancelled then reinstated and on Monday it just never turned up making me extremely late for work.”

The meeting is being held at St James Parish Church on Saturday, August 6 at 10.30am.
