AN ever-popular flower show is set to return to a village in South Gloucestershire.
Back without restrictions, Pilning Open Flower Show will return on Saturday, August 27 to St Peter's School and organisers say they have built on last year's experiences to offer more of the outdoor spaces for refreshments, presentation of cups and the entertaining auction of produce.
The show is open for anyone to enter and entrants are encouraged for a number of categories including flowers, vegetables, fruit, preserves, baking, photography, flower arranging, adult crafts as well as classes just for children.
Winners will be awarded cash prizes, certificates and trophies with a new James Gillespie Cup for Best Picked Produce.
Winning photos of celebrations in the children’s classes will appear on the cover of the parish magazine.
Organisers say registering entries in advance is strongly recommended to minimise queuing at the school.
Entries can be brought to the school on show day before 10.45am, or 7pm to 8pm on the evening before.
Monies raised this year will go to two local charities the Community Defibrillators and the Avon Riding Centre (RDA).
Doors open at 2.15pm refreshments a bumper raffle and charity auction of produce will follow the judging.
Admission for adults £1, OAPs 50p and children are free.
