FESTIVE events are returning to Berkeley and Wotton this week.

The events help communities kick-off the countdown to Christmas with this year’s highlights including a festive parade, stalls with homemade goodies and carol singers.

Christmas is returning to Berkeley in a festive event today

Shops are opening later and there will also be stalls, a craft market and carol singers.

The lights-switch on will take place with Santa outside the town hall at 6pm.

Events will be taking place inside White Hart courtyard and St Mary’s church.

Christmas Under The Edge

Christmas is also returning to Wotton with a festive event on Saturday.

The day will begin with Wotton Silver Band playing in Long Street from 9.30am until 12pm.

There will then be a festive parade through the town led by Father Christmas at 4pm.

There will also be live performances from The British School Singing Club, Blues Triad, Wotton Wind Band, Round The Edge Choir, Earl Grey & The Biscuits as well as Waterley Bottom Mummers and Morris Dancers.

Wotton’s Christmas Trees are also being put up in the town and above shop fronts by the Wotton Lions team.

Christmas at Berkeley will take place on Thursday, December 1 from 5pm to 9pm.

Christmas Under The Edge in Wotton will take place on Saturday, December 3 from 4pm to 9pm.
