A NURSERY has received a glowing report from Ofsted following a recent inspection.
The education watchdog gave The Co-operative Childcare at Cam an ‘outstanding’ rating following an inspection on November 15 this year.
The report praises the nursery staff, leadership, and the curriculum.
Ofsted inspector Michelle Oram states that the Cam nursery is a “positive” and “enabling” where staff provide the children with “outstanding learning opportunities”.
Ms Oram also added that staff “continually respect children's opinions” during activities and pre-school council meetings - where the children are allowed to discuss their likes and dislikes.
The nursery received the highest possible rating in all metrics including: education quality, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and management which were all rated as outstanding.
Nursery manager Katie Harney has welcomed the judgement and said she was ‘over the moon’.
“It's amazing to have received an Outstanding judgement from Ofsted,” she said.
“The team at Cam Nursery all work so hard to ensure that the children are given the best possible start in a happy, welcoming and positive environment.
“The children and families are at the very heart of everything we do.
“We are over the moon to have that recognition of our continued hard work and efforts.”
The Ofsted report reads: “Enthusiastic staff continually praise the children for their positive approach to learning, building confidence and positive well-being.
“Activities are meticulously planned through the children's interests, incorporating the children's own curiosity.”
“Staff cover all areas of the curriculum, including regard for caring for the planet.
“Children are taught how to make small changes, such as not leaving the bathroom tap on and how to recycle different materials.”
The early years centre on Woodfield Road has not received a full inspection since November 2016, where it was also rated ‘outstanding’.
The Co-operative Childcare at Cam was first registered in June 2004 and currently looks after nearly 100 children from early years to four-year-old.
