YATE is playing host to a Window Wanderland for the second consecutive year as residents at Ladden Garden Village take part in a festive event to raise money for a food bank.

Throughout December, residents at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes’ Ladden Garden Village development are illuminating their windows with colourful festive displays as part of the popular Window Wanderland initiative.

In addition to covering Window Wanderland’s £75 registration fee, for each household that takes part, Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes will donate £20 to the North Bristol Food Bank in support of the hugely important local cause.

A total of 44 households have registered which has raised £880 for the charity.

Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: "There is a terrific community spirit here at Ladden Garden Village and residents needed little motivation to take part in this fundraiser for the North Bristol Food Bank."

Andrea Pilgrim, sales director at Barratt Bristol, added: "Once again this active new community has pulled out all the stops to decorate their windows in a creative way. Christmas has well and truly arrived in Yate and we’re pleased we can help the food bank support many people over the festive season."

Window Wanderland is an award-winning project which provides resources for communities around the world to set up their own magical window displays, day or night, throughout the year.

The initiative aims to bring neighbourhoods together, reduce social isolation and inspire creativity.

Set within 32 acres of open space, when complete, Ladden Garden Village will include a proposed primary school and nursery and shop. It features a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes with RSPB friendly gardens, four acres of new play areas, three acres of allotments, sports pitches and 4.5 km of footpaths and cycleways.
