FESTIVE fun returned to Cam Everlands Primary School with songs and goodwill at their first Christmas fayre in three years.
The event, the first since 2019, was held at the school in Birch Road and featured a Santa’s grotto, festive games, a Christmas market, a tombola, cake stalls and a hot dog stand.
The school choir also spread festive cheer by performing a medley of Christmas tunes.
Organised by parent volunteers and staff from the Cam Everlands Primary School Association, the event on December 9 aimed to bring festive joy to every family.
School association chair Jennie O’Reilly said: “After a tough couple of years and with the cost of living weighing on minds, our aim was to create an event that would connect the school community and spread goodwill in ways that were accessible to all.
“Our huge thanks must go to everyone who played a part in the Christmas fair, and especially to Lidl in Dursley and to Tesco in Cam for their generous support.”
Headteacher Dominic Knill said: “It was so lovely to bring the school community together in this way for the first time in a few years.
“There was a lovely buzz throughout the school and it felt like such a special evening for the children and their families.
“Alongside Christmas lunches, nativities and carol concerts - what a brilliant way to finish our winter term!”
