A YOUNG MAN with terminal cancer has said he has been 'blown away by the support shown to him', including VIP tickets to watch his favourite football team next month.

In August 2021, Rob Hale, 33, from Thornbury received stem cell treatment which it was hoped would extend his life by around 18 months.

However, in the run up to Christmas he received an upsetting medical update, giving him just a few months to live.

During the second weekend in January, his friends surprised him with a trip to Corfe Castle, Dorset.

He also recently had a living funeral which enabled him to say goodbye to his friends and family.

Rob - who has also been urging people to sign up to the stem cell register to help others - has said he has been blown away by the support he has received in recent days.

"I'm absolutely blown away by the reaction to what I've been doing," said Rob.

"I honestly couldn't have anticipated the sheer number of heart warming messages and comments I've had over the past few days.

"My social media has almost been non stop with messages coming in from all over the world.

"Today I learned that my story had made it on to the news is Chile!

"Closer to home it was shared by other national papers like the Daily Mail and the Indepedent.

"On the back of all the media coverage my social media account has almost doubled in followers and now I am just shy of my fundraising target.

"I cant wait to share photos from the adventures this will enable me to have.

"My dad reached out to my all time favourite football club, Tottenham Hotspur and they've kindly offered us four seats for a game next month in their VIP executive box.

"When I got that news I almost cried.

"I was left speechless by their genorisity and now I will get to do something I never dreamed was possible.

"And I'll get to share with my dad, brother-in-law and a close friend.l.

"It's very hard to put into words the love, kindness and generosity I've been shown since receiving this diagnosis but I appreciate every single one of the messages I've recieved.

"I have tried my best to reply to as many as I can."
