FIREFIGHTERS attended a small electrical fire at a primary school in Thornbury this afternoon.
Crews tackled the blaze at St Mary's Primary on Church Road at around 3pm today, Thursday (March 23) and were able to ‘isolate the fault’.
It is believed that no one was injured.
A Facebook post by Thornbury Fire Station reads: “Just washing down after the last call as we were mobilised to a small electrical fire at a local school.
“All pupils safely evacuated, allowing firefighters to quickly locate and isolate the fault."
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said crews used thermal imaging cameras and gas monitors.
"We were called at 2,56pm to reports of a smell of burning at a school on Church Road, Thornbury," they said.
"Two crews from Thornbury attended and found a small fire that was out on our arrival. Firefighters inspected the premises using thermal imaging cameras and gas monitors.
"The premises were deemed safe and children were able to return inside to collect their belongings at the end of the school day."
