POLICE warn residents following multiple reports of men going door-to-door asking for jewellery and entering homes without invitation in the Berkeley area.

There were multiple reports from residents within the area of Berkeley Vale Park about a man who was dropping leaflets through their doors asking for jewellery to be sold to him on Tuesday, March 28.

He was captured on a ring doorbell and has been described as having a London accent and being very persuasive in trying to get a resident to sell jewellery for cheap prices.

There was another incident in Berkeley where a man entered a property by opening the front door and letting himself in - nothing was taken but he entered without an invitation.

PC Ed Gowen said: "I am making enquiries to identify and speak to the male(s) but believe his actions warrant an alert to Berkeley residents."

Police are asking anyone with any information about these incidents to contact them.

Information can be provided by completing an online crime information form on the Gloucestershire police website by quoting incident 0053 – 31/3/23.
