RESIDENTS and users of Kingsgate Park are being asked for their ideas for the new play area.

Yate Town Council is working with Eibe Play Ltd, to design a new play area at Kingsgate Park.

Design ideas for the new play area, that will replace the current under 5years area, can be viewed in virtual reality on residents' phone, tablet or computer.

The Town Council says it is keen to hear from residents and users of the park and play area.

Gazette Series:

The Town Council says it welcomes feedback from users and groups that can help them select equipment and a create a design that all can enjoy, adding that access and inclusion are at the heart of the play area.

Residents can tell the town council what they think about the design, via their online questionnaire.

This consultation is only for one area of the play area which caters to younger children.

The current timber trim trail and high level trail, zip wire and multi activity games area (MUGA), will be refurbished in additional phases of the project.

Additional items will be considered once the play area design is finalised.

This comes as Yate Town Council recently announced that there is 'fast and fantastic' progress with the refurbishment of Kingsgate Park.

Since November 2022, the town council has secured £325,000 of funding for this project, including £25,000 from Enovert Community Trust which will go towards the replacement of the zip wire and refurbishment of the multi-use games area.

The first stage of the project will see the replacement of the zip wire and refurbishment of the timber tree top trail, followed by a complete redesign of the current area for the under 5s.
