A NEW adventure activity park for families and thrill seekers has officially opened its doors in Gloucestershire.
270 Climbing Park is located in the former Bentham Country Club near Gloucester and has been completely transformed into an adventure centre.
The attraction has one of the tallest high ropes courses in Europe featuring 60 different obstacles ranging in difficulty.
Due to a number of delays and escalations in manufacturing and construction costs the activity park will be opening in phases.
While work continues to develop the rest of the park, phase one of the project is now complete following a month-long soft opening.
The first phase has seen the completion of the landscaping as well as the finishing touches to the soaring six-tier high ropes course and 22m tall activity tower with jumps and ziplines.
Work over the coming months includes the front building being redeveloped to include a 200 plus seater café with inside and outdoors seating, party rooms, retail spaces and offices.
Phase two will see the introduction of a dedicated bouldering gym and more climbing facilities around September this year.
While phase three will see the development of the main climbing arena as well as other exciting facilities come on board during 2024.
Company director, David Stevens said: “It’s still early days with the project but we’ve had some incredible customer feedback so far from people during our trial run.
“We want everyone to get the most out of their time with us and we’re genuinely interested in whether visitors had a good time with us or not.
“We automatically email everyone following their visit to see how their experience went and while not every single comment that comes back is five stars, a lot of them actually are!
“We’re so pleased to bring such an exciting attraction to the region and to hear that people are enjoying them so much is just the icing on top!”
The project has been part funded by The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, LEADER Funding Programme and Forest and Tewkesbury Borough.
