A BMW driver has been charged with driving while under the influence of ecstasy in the car park of the McDonald's near Quedgeley. 

Jaroslaw Baranski, aged 39, of Mulberry Close, Hardwicke was allegedly caught by police in the car park off the A38 on Saturday, November 19 last year. 

It is alleged he consumed 75 micrograms of MDMA - ecstasy - per litre of blood while driving a black BMW 330i. 

The legal limit for the drug is 10 micrograms per litre of blood.

Baranski is charged under the Road Traffic Act and the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

The case was due to be heard at Cheltenham Magistrates’ on Thursday, June 1 but the defendant did not attend the hearing. 

A warrant for Baranski's arrest was issued.
