FIREFIGHTERS from Yate helped save a trapped dog yesterday morning. 

A golden Labrador that was trapped between a portacabin and a wall in Winterbourne yesterday, Thursday, June 15, was rescued by crews from Avon Fire & Rescue Service. 

The dog became stuck at around 11.23am and was eventually freed by firefighters from Yate and Bedminster.

And after the rescue mission, the firefighters gave the pup a head scratch. 

A spokesperson from Avon Fire & Rescue Service said: “On June 15 at 11.23am crews from Yate and Bedminster were called to reports of a small animal trapped on Badminton Road, Winterbourne. 

“On arrival, crews found a Labrador trapped between a portacabin and a breezeblock wall. 

“With some encouragement, the dog was able to self-rescue itself from the entrapment."
