FIREFIGHTERS from Yate helped save another trapped dog yesterday afternoon.

A Jack Russell named Boycie that was trapped inside a family car in Hawkesbury Upton yesterday, Tuesday June 20 was rescued by crews from Avon Fire & Rescue Service.

The dog became stuck at around 3.49pm in a car in France Lane and was eventually freed by firefighters from Yate and reunited him with his family.

It comes after the same Yate crew recently also saved a golden Labrador that was trapped between a portable building and a wall in Winterbourne last week on Thursday, June 15.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire & Rescue Service said: “Crews from Yate were called to reports of a small animal trapped at 3.49pm yesterday.

“On arrival, crews found one 14 year old Jack Russell named Boycie trapped in a car.

“Luckily, the air conditioning was on and crews formulated a plan to rescue the dog.

“Using small tools and utilising manual handling techniques, crews were able to rescue Boycie and reunite him with his family.”
