A MAN has been ordered to pay nearly £200 after he was caught with three offensive weapons, including a large hunting knife, near Gloucester Quays. 

Giles Cook, aged 44, was caught with a six-inch hunting knife, a lock knife and an expandable baton in the Premier Inn car park in Bakers Quay on March 14.

He was charged under the Criminal Justice Act 1988 and the Prevention of Crime Act 1953. 

The case was heard at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 3. 

Cook, of Norsted Lane, Orpington, south east London, was ordered to pay a £114 victim surcharge as well as £85 in costs - totalling £199. 

A community order was imposed. 

Cook must complete 100 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
