South Gloucestershire's motorists will have 23 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that nine closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M4, from 8pm May 30 to 6am July 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 22 closed between exit and entry slip road for carriageway repairs. Diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

• M4, from 6am May 20 to 10pm July 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 22, 50 mph speed restrictions.

• M4, from 8pm June 5 to 6am July 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 19 lane closures for bridge construction.

• M4, from 10pm June 29 to 10pm July 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 22, 50 mph speed restrictions.

• M48, from 9pm April 27 to 6am July 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M48 both directions mobile lane closure for drainage works.

• M32, from midnight, March 26 to 5am November 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32, junction 1 to M4, junction 19 and M4, junction 19 to 23 used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses for Bristol Parkway to Newport route.

• M5, from 5am March 25 to 5am November 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 17 to 16 - narrow lanes for SMART motorway improvements.

• M4, from 5am March 11 2023 to 5am January 21 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 to 19 - narrow lanes including 24/7 closure of offside running lane for SMART motorway improvements.

• M4, from 5am March 17 2023 to 5am January 21 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 19 to 20 - narrow lanes including 24/7 closure of offside running lane for SMART motorway improvements.

And a further 14 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A46, from 8pm July 17 to 6am July 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A46 Cold Ashton traffic lights installed by BT.

• M4, from 8pm July 17 to 6am July 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 Both Directions, junction 18 to junction 19 hard shoulder closures for bridge construction.

• M4, from 7pm July 18 to 6am July 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 22 closed between exit and entry slip road for carriageway repairs. Diversion via exit and entry slip roads.

• M5, from 9pm July 19 to 5am July 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 13 to 14 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M5, from 9pm July 22 to 6am July 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 16 exit slip, advanced signage to facilitate works on A38 (Electricity Network Company Limited).

• M4, from 9pm July 24 to 6am July 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 entry slip road from M5 southbound, junction 15 closed for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 22 return to M4 to junction 20.

• M4, from 9pm July 24 to 6am July 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 entry slip road from M5 northbound, junction 15 closed for SMART motorway improvement works, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 22, M4 eastbound to junction 20.

• M32, from 9pm July 24 to 6am July 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 to 19 - carriageway closed for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 16, A38, A4174, M32 northbound, join M4.

• M32, from 9pm July 25 to 6am July 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 19 to 20 carriageway closure for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M32 exit, junction 1, A4174, A38, join M5 northbound, at, junction 16, re-join M4.

• M32, from 9pm July 26 to 6am July 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M32 northbound, junction 2 to junction 1 carriageway closure for horticulture, diversion B4469 Muller Road, A38, A4174 to M32, junction 1.

• M4, from 9am to 4pm on July 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 both directions, junction 21 to 23 hard shoulder closure for structure maintenance.

• M4, from 8pm July 31 to 5am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 westbound, junction 20 entry slip road to M5 southbound, junction 15 - lane closures for bridge deck refurbishment works.

• M5, from 8pm July 31 to 5am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 16 exit slip road closed for bridge deck refurbishment works, diversion via M5 southbound, exit at, junction 17, join M5 northbound to junction 16.

• M4, from 8pm July 31 to 5am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 entry slip road to M5 southbound, junction 15 closure for bridge deck refurbishment works, diversion via M5 northbound, exit, junction 14, join M5 southbound.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
