A HOUSEBULDER has announced it is injecting more than £1.7 million into the Berkeley area as part of an ongoing development.

Redrow Homes is currently constructing 107 three and four-bedroom homes along the B4066 as part of the new Berkeley Dene development near the Canon Park playing field.

As part of the investment, the developer is investing more than £318,000 to support local education services and £200,000 to public transport improvements.

In addition, the housebuilder has announced it will contribute £200,000 to public transport improvements and more than £100,000 to the A38 Alkington Lane Junction.

The investment also includes contributions of £67,000 to facilitate home-to-school transport, £20,000 to fund local libraries and a two-instalment investment, amounting to £318,000, to support local secondary schools.

Sian Smith, sales director at Redrow South West, said: “We are thrilled to be supporting the community of Berkeley, as well as bringing much-needed homes to the town at our new development.

“We are committed to creating thriving communities that benefit the local area and bring new residents to the town.

“With investments in local education, major road improvements, and public transport links, we hope to improve the lives of both new and existing residents.

“We are pleased to be expanding our portfolio in the area, creating new, high-quality homes in Berkeley while providing this investment to the wider Gloucestershire region.

“We’d encourage anyone looking to buy a new home to register their interest at Berkeley Dene as soon as possible, as we will be launching our new show home in just a month’s time.”

The adjacent land to the site is also being considered as a potential base for the long-term Sharpness Vale project, which aims to build 2,400 new homes by 2040.

Prices for new build homes begin at £442,995
