A WATER company has apologised for an ongoing water leak in Dursley, which remains un-fixed more than two weeks since it began.

The leak, along Hill Road to Stinchcombe, has sparked concerns from neighbours and has been getting progressively worse.

It has also been suggested the heavy stream could be causing problems to the road surface.

A spokesperson for Severn Trent said they were "aware of the leak" and were "really sorry" for the delay in repairing it.

Roy Brine, who lives along Hill Road, said: “This water leak has been going on and progressively getting worse for over two weeks, such that it is now a very heavy flow, and maybe causing problems to the road surface.

“We, and other neighbours have reported this on a number of occasions, but Severn Trent note they have the report but appear to do nothing about it.

“We are all hearing about issues with water supply companies but here it is obvious, and you would have thought it easy to identify issues that they are not taking seriously.

“We were forced to fit a new water meter recently, not for billing, so they say, but to manage leaks.

“Well we can see a rather large one with our own eyes.”

A spokesperson for Severn Trent said: “We’re aware of the leak on Hill Road and want to thank customers for their patience and for contacting us about it.

“Essential repair works are required on site, and this will need traffic management to be in place for the safety of our teams and others.

“We are in the process of getting that organised and once sorted, crews will carry out the work as a priority.

“We are really sorry for the time it has taken to get everything sorted and, once again, want to thank everyone for their patience.”
