FRIENDS of Charfield Primary School have given their fundraising efforts some pedal power' by completing a Bikes for Friends' event to raise money for an outdoor classroom.
Helen England, Elanor Sanville and Kirsty Rummels cycled 50 miles in a day to raise £1,200 through sponsorship from local businesses and parents.
On one of the hottest days of the year, the group set off at 9am and cycled a 35 mile route to Oaksey, where they stopped for lunch.
After a short break, the cyclists returned to Charfield, where the pedlathon' ended after a gruelling 6 hours and 15 minutes.
"They did this in their own time and have raised a terrific amount of money," said headteacher Dafydd Lawday. "It's a fabulous achievement."
