STRONG winds resulted in the closure of the M48 Severn Bridge this morning.
The bridge, which spans the Severn and the Wye from Aust to Chepstow, was shut to all traffic at around 9.45am.
Traffic was diverted over the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.
The M48 bridge was eventually reopened in both directions this afternoon at around 12.20pm.
However, a 40mph speed restriction has been implemented.
