STAGECOACH says it is 'making improvements' to its bus network in and around Yate from this weekend.

The bus operator, working in partnership with the West of England Combined Authority, has made changes in order to 'improve connectivity and punctuality' in the area.

The route has been altered for 525 (Emersons Green – Yate – North Yate) to service more of the new Ladden Green Village housing development, so it will now run via Peg Hill, Clayhill Drive and Dowsell Way, instead of Leechpool Way.

A change of route in the Emersons Green area means the service will now run via Church Farm Road, Johnson Road, Pomphrey Hill and Shortwood Hill, providing a much-needed service to villagers once again.

Arrival and departure times at the stops on Yate Randolph Avenue have been tweaked to improve connections to and from Pucklechurch and Westerleigh.

Meanwhile, the 86 Service from Emersons Green to Kingswood has been amended following customer feedback.

Buses have cut down on the amount of time they wait at Kingwood’s Kings Chase Centre.

Rachel Geliamassi, Managing Director, Stagecoach West says: “Yate and North Bristol passengers should see much improved punctuality, thanks to these changes we’re implementing from Sunday, September 24.

"The network changes and new connections will make travel easier for students and commuters in the region.”
