DETAILS have emerged regarding Christmas preparations in Cam this year.

Plans are underway for the return of the annual Cam Christmas lights switch on.

The much-loved event is due to take place on Saturday, November 25.

As a result, a road closure will be in force along the High Street from just after The China Chef takeaway to the roundabout by Tesco from 12pm.

This year's event - which starts at 2pm - includes giant street games, festive themed stalls, a traditional market and mini reindeer rides and delicious food.

A spokesperson from Cam Parish Council said: “Christmas is already in our thoughts and plans.

“To ensure everyone's safety, the High Street will be closed on this date from 12pm until 6pm.

“This is to allow safe access and set up for everyone involved with the Christmas activities.

“Manor Avenue will be the alternative route and we will have traffic marshals in place to help residents and visitors and to redirect vehicles as needed.

“Heavy goods vehicles will be asked to use the A38 and B4066 for access to Cam."
