A WOMAN from Yate was killed when her car crashed at Tortworth last night.
The accident happened at 7.43pm on the B4509 at Tortworth Common.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was travelling towards Yate when it is thought she lost control of her Peugeot car on a left-hand bend. The car left the road and turned over, landing on its roof.
The female driver was declared dead at the scene.
No other car is believed to have been involved in the crash.
Road policing unit officers closed the road off, pending an investigation by the collision investigation unit.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the crash who may have information to help their investigation.
