A DOG which injured a boy in could be destroyed if its owner does not comply with strict safety conditions recently imposed by a court order.

Marcin Janiszewski, aged 39, of Marham Drive, Kingsway, Quedgeley, admitted that his dog was dangerously out of control in his home street and injured a youth aged under 18 during an incident on January 25 last year.

The incident involved a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Roxy.

The case was heard at Cheltenham Magistrates on Monday, October 2, where the court ordered that Roxy must be kept secure in a cage or room when the front or back doors of its home are open.

The dog must always be under the control of a fit and proper person aged over 16 and must be kept on a lead and muzzled in any public place, the court ruled.

The court said if Janiszewski does not comply with the orders made for public safety Roxy must be destroyed.

Janiszewski was fined £525 and ordered to pay £100 to the boy plus a surcharge of £210 - a total of £835.
