Stanshawes Care Home, a 48-bed nursing home in Yate welcomed the Mayor of Yate Town Council, Councillor Cheryl Kirby, and opened its doors to the public to celebrate the arrival of a new bird bath for the garden.

Residents at Stanshawes Care Home already enjoy an aviary with finches, canaries and quails. However, during the summer months they have been spotting and discussing so many other different species of birds that have been visiting the garden. The residents suggested getting a new bird bath which would attract even more birds and provide them with somewhere to drink and bathe.

Visitors to Stanshawes can expect a warm welcome from the home’s manager and the team, who provided a tour of the home and introduce local people to the care facilities and services provided. There is no requirement to book in advance.

Stanshawes prides itself on its varied and busy activities programme and guests will be able to participate in a game of Bingo, one of the favourite activities at the home. Visitors were also invited to chat to the friendly Stanshawes team and enjoy complimentary refreshments in the garden and lounge with residents.

Eva William, Care Home Manager at Stanshawes, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Mayor, Councillor Cheryl Kirby, to Stanshawes Care Home to celebrate the arrival of our new bird bath and it was also a perfect opportunity for our local community to come and see our beautiful home.

“All are welcome at Stanshawes Care Home and guests will be able to experience our warm and friendly atmosphere for themselves and ask myself and the caring team any questions they may have.”
