AN aspiring reporter from Sir Bernard Lovell Academy has written about a recent concert at the O2 Academy in Bristol.

Josie Hole writes about Maisie Peters' performance on November 1.

Her last stop before Wembley Stadium, Maisie Peters, a rising indie-pop artist who served as the support artist on Ed Sheeran’s tour, performed for 2 nights in October and November at Bristol’s O2 Academy, touring her new album, The Good Witch.

Maisie is a 23-year-old West-Sussex-born artist who writes lively and up-beat pop music.

Her second album, ‘The Good Witch’, led her to be the youngest solo British female artist to claim number 1 album in the charts, for almost a decade.

Maisie visited a range of locations on her tour including Birmingham, Dublin and Glasgow, accompanied by her band and support artist Gretta Ray.

The concert began with Gretta Ray performing a variety of her popular songs with incredible vocals and lots of charm.

After this, there was room full of suspense as fans waited for Maisie, and she certainly delivered!

Kicking the set off with the title track of her album, Peters got the crowd cheering and dancing right from the moment she appeared on stage.

Sharing context for each song throughout, Maisie truly put on a show as she performed a mixture of songs from her new album along with many of her well known ‘oldies’.

Though it wasn’t just Maisie that the crowd loved: the lighting and behind-the-scenes team did a spectacular job setting up for the big star and provided vital parts of tying the experience together.

By the time Maisie reached her song titled ‘The Band and I’, the audience were introduced to her backing band, Tina, Jack, and Joel.

Soon enough, Maisie Peters finished the set and left the stage.

Despite this, the crowd knew she would be back and began cheering for an encore of two more songs, so of course, she rushed back onstage, this time accompanied by the supporting artist, Gretta Ray!

Together, they duetted the final track on ‘The Good Witch’ album, ‘History Of Man’, before Maisie closed the concert with one of her latest, very popular singles, with approximately 25 million listens, ‘Lost The Breakup’.

The atmosphere and crowd at the concert were filled with positive energy and respect for the artist, providing an incredible experience for all.

To conclude, Maisie Peters, the rising indie-pop singer, her band and support act provided a thrilling concert in Bristol as part of her ‘The Good Witch’ tour, before heading to London and Wembley Stadium, so if she tours again soon, it certainly wouldn’t be one to miss!
