Fundraiser raises £6,500 for Positive About Down Syndrome

BrizFit Bootcamps, which has sessions across the area, recently held a fundraising event at Thornbury Golf Club on Saturday, October 28. 

Over 70 members came together for the ball, with attendees bidding on items such as Manchester United Tickets, a hot air balloon ride and a signed Lando Norris cap.

More than £6,000 was raised for Positive About Down Syndrome, a charity which provides support to families who have children with Down's syndrome.

Rosie Hammond who runs BrizFit said: “Every year we have a big social event which is always great fun. 

“This year we thought it would be nice to have our social event but at the same time raise a bit of money for charity. 

“It was also a lovely excuse to get out of our workout gear and get dressed up!

“One of our members has a son who has Down's syndrome and this charity provided a lot of support and reassurance to their family so it was naturally a great charity for us to support”

“It was amazing to see our boot camp community come together and raise so much money for such a wonderful charity. 

“We have an incredible bunch of members which was evident with not only their generosity on the night but also things people were able to donate through connections and their own businesses.”

BrizFit runs ten boot camps sessions a week in Thornbury, Almondsbury and Stoke Bishop with sessions suitable for all fitness levels.
