CHRISTMAS is set to sparkle in Cam when the lights are switched-on during a fantastic event next weekend. 

The lights in the trees around Noel Lee Way and along the high street will be switched on at 4.30pm on Saturday, November 25, with the event running from 2pm to 5pm. 

Multiple different festive activities are due to take place including a fun fair on Noel Lee Way, mini-reindeer rides, giant pavement games, a light show and a vintage tractor display.

Children will be able to visit Father Christmas in an enchanting grotto in the Cam Parish Council offices, organised by Hopton School House. 

A Christmas craft market will be held in Cam Memorial Hall, there will also be outdoor stalls and a host of delicious food. 

In addition, a speedy festive treasure hunt is being organised by Dursley Running Club.

Meanwhile, there will be live performances by the Dursley Male Voice Choir and a local Christmas dance troop.

Children’s activities will be on offer at St Bartholomew's Church. 

A memory tree will be outside Tesco where people can remember loved ones by putting a star onto the tree.

The high street will be closed from 12pm until 6pm.

Alternative routes include Manor Avenue and for heavy goods vehicles the A38 and B4066.
