TRAINS have been cancelled in the area due to flooding caused by Storm Henk.

Great Western Railway and Network Rail say flooding near Chipping Sodbury means all lines are currently closed between Swindon and Bristol Parkway.

Services between London Paddington and South Wales are being diverted. 

A Network Rail spokesperson said: “The line between Swindon and Bristol Parkway remains closed today, owing to flooding.

"We are working with our train operator colleagues to keep passengers moving, with trains being diverted. Passengers are advised to check before they travel.”

Flood alerts issued across area 

Meanwhile, an amber flood alert has been issued for the Bristol Frome catchment area which includes the River Trym and tributaries between Chipping Sodbury and Tytherington to Bristol Floating Harbour and the Bristol Avon.

Similarly, an amber flood alert has been issued for the Rivers Frome and Cam - which includes parts of Cam, Cambridge, Slimbridge, Arlingham and Frampton on Severn.
