A YATE TEACHER raised nearly £3,000 after her tutor group bound, cut and shaved her head for charity.  

Carly Bryan, who works at Brimham Green in Yate, had her head shaved for the Little Princess Trust, a charity which makes real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair through various conditions.   

After the event, which took place on Thursday, January 11, Ms Bryan said: "I was actually, and more surprisingly, excited about having my hair removed.

"I am pleased that we decided to embark on this event and hope it goes a long way in supporting young people retrieve the confidence back that they may have lost during treatment.  "

The total raised including gift aid was £2,793.50.

Ms Bryan also donated her hair so they could use it towards one of their hand made wigs.
