POLICE say they are increasing their patrols around Dursley following a rise in vandalism. 

Graffiti has been spotted across the area including in the town centre and Kingshill Road. 

Children's play areas have also been targeted.

Graffiti was also written on the windows of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kingshill. 

Police say the hall was targeted between Sunday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 24. 

A spokesperson from Dursley Town Council said they welcomed the additional patrols.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson from Gloucestershire Police said they are “keen” to identify any potential suspects.

Officers will be increasing patrols

A police spokesperson said: “There have been a number of incidents of graffiti around Dursley recently. 

“There is a cost to the Town Council to keep removing this and we are keen to identify any potential suspects. 
 
“In response, officers will be increasing patrols to reassure residents and identify any suspects.

“If you have any information about these incidents that could help us with our investigation, we’d like to hear from you.

A council spokesperson said: “Dursley Town Council welcome the additional patrols in the area following the recent increase in vandalism to which council property has been targeted.”
