ANOTHER GROUP of Yate residents boarded the coach up to Westminster this month for a tour of the UK parliament organised by their local MP.
Thornbury and Yate MP Luke Hall continued to deliver on his promise to provide constituents with the opportunity to visit the heart of the British democracy and to meet their MP where legislation is passed and debated after overwhelming demand.
The MP’s initiative, which organises for a village or neighbourhood to visit Parliament, is part of an effort to ensure communities within the area are able to visit the House of Commons, while also giving them an opportunity to engage with Mr Hall.
Some of the topics raised in this month’s Q&A included what the Government is doing to tackle rough sleeping, housing plans in South Gloucestershire, the continuation of half hourly train services, and immigration.
Mr Hall said: “We kicked off the new year with another tour with the Yate community.
"As someone who worked in Lidl in Yate and lived in Yate, it is always special to welcome our community to Parliament.
"More tours are on the way!”
Anyone who would like to join in on one of these tours in the future, you can get in touch by emailing luke.hall.mp@parliament.uk
