THE POPULAR Dursley pancake race returned today and was a recipe for fun despite the damp weather.

The much-loved event saw runners armed with pans race around Parsonage Street while flipping pancakes.

Some participants in the event today also dressed up for the occasion with some wearing rainbow wigs, while others dressed like unicorns.

The final placings were:

  • 1st - Jamil Foster from BBC Radio Gloucestershire
  • 2nd - Neil Malpass

According to the organisers, it was the largest children's race they had ever held, with Betsy Bailey winning.
