YATE residents have helped raise more than £400 for Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) through a series of fundraisers.
The charity provides the critical care and air ambulance service for 2.1 million people across Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and parts of Wiltshire.
Joe Hughes, strategic partnerships manager at Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, said: “As our mission numbers steadily increase each year, it’s increasingly important that we maintain the support of those in our communities.
"The money raised by the residents at Ladden Garden Village in Yate will have a real impact on our ability to continue with our lifesaving work in the region.”
GWAAC’s critical care team consists of highly trained and experienced critical care doctors, advanced practitioners and specialist paramedics in critical care, who bring the skill and expertise of a hospital emergency department to the patient.
The team is needed by an average of five patients a day, which rushes to treat them by helicopter or critical care car with each mission costing around £2,000.
