A POPULAR FESTIVAL in Yate is set to return in June.

Yate Rocks in the Park festival will return to Kingsgate Park on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23 at Kingsgate On the Saturday, the main festival day, taking place between 12pm and 8pm, there will be a combination of music, dance, arts & crafts, community stalls, food and drink, children and adult rides and entertainments.

Music will be provided by an eclectic mix of local bands and singers; Longshots, Rhiannon-Paige and Wild Rose, Limited Edition, Zoom Club, 80’s tribute band Outatime, Liquor & Poker and The Layers.

Local dance groups will perform in between the bands and include: 5678 Dance, Yasmins, Street Cred, ROKH Dance along with other local clubs and associations.

Fun rides for the children include giant slides, football games, Wipe Out and the popular, young children’s Go-Karts.

A tall mobile climbing wall will be set up alongside the local Yate Scouts stalls which also features tomahawk throwing and junior archery plus lot of other fun activities.

A range of different eating options as well as a beer tent and different craft beers and drinks.

Over 20 stalls will feature a wide range of arts and crafts, from hair styling and colouring, face painting, to jewellery and accessories plus local services and associations, alongside sideshows and community stalls offering a wide range of local products and novelties.

On the Sunday, from 10.30am at Kingsgate Park, local churches will again be staging a morning service starting at 11am everyone is welcome followed by the choir showcase at 1pm with junior choirs and five senior choirs enjoying each other’s singing before all the choirs come together for a grand finale.

"This event epitomizes the spirit of our town, bringing together residents, musicians and visitors for two days of celebration of music and arts!”
