A POLICE hunt is underway for a wanted man who absconded from a prison in the area.
James Ward, aged 34, who also goes by the name Christopher, absconded from HMP Leyhill, in South Gloucestershire.
Officers say Ward failed to return from home leave on Saturday, April 6.
Avon and Somerset Police says Ward has links to Cirencester, Chippenham, Bradford, Thornaby and London.
The force is currently appealing for the public’s help to locate him.
A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for the public's help to locate wanted 34-year-old James Ward.
“He is described as white, with short, dark hair and facial hair.
“If you see Ward, do not approach him, instead call 999. If you have any information, call 101 and quote 5224088064.”
