A ROAD in South Gloucestershire could have roadworks for three months, officials say.

Temporary traffic lights are due to be installed today, Monday, April 15 on the B4465 Pucklechurch as part of work to install a new shared-use path.

Traffic lights will be in place for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Once completed, the new path will connect the village to the A4174 Avon Ring Road and beyond for pedestrians and bicycles.

A spokesperson from South Gloucestershire Council said in a statement: “Work to complete the shared-use path linking Pucklechurch village with the existing cycle path on Shortwood Hill will begin on Monday, April 15.

"Work could last for up to three months and the traffic lights will be in place for 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“The shared-use path will link the village of Pucklechurch to the A4174 Avon Ring Road and beyond for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders.

“We apologise for any disruption and thank you for your patience.”
