YATE'S beach will be back soon along with a bonanza of activities for school half term at the end of May and throughout the summer holidays.

The beach will open on Friday, May 24 in the Central Square and will be followed by a Safari day on Tuesday, May 28 plus a beach party on Thursday, May 30.

The beach will stay open until the end of August before which the summer holidays will be packed with fun loving days such as Party Peeps beach parties, Caribbean steel band, Olympic themed crafts and Punch and Judy shows.

Andrew Lowrey, Yate Shopping Centre manager, said: “The start to 2024 has been very positive with 14 per cent more visitors in the first three months.

"Furthermore, the easter activities continued to draw the crowds and we now look forward to maintaining this level of growth throughout the summer to give a real boost to the traders.

“The beach always proves to be very popular, adding that holiday theme to the surroundings. In addition, we have several new retailers opening in vacant units, all of which are currently completing the legalities and will be revealed in the coming months.”
