TRAINS are currently unable to run to two stations in the area due to a points failure this afternoon, officials say.

According to National Rail, trains are unable to reach Yate as well as Cam and Dursley railway station.

It is understood disruption is expected until 4.30pm but lines have now reopened.

Throughout this afternoon, trains have been either delayed or cancelled.

A National Rail spokesperson said CrossCountry and Great Western Railway have both been affected.

The spokesperson said: “A points failure between Bristol Parkway and Gloucester / Cheltenham Spa is causing disruption to services running between these stations.

“Trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 25 minutes.

They added: “Great Western Railway have requested for several coaches to run between Bristol Parkway and Gloucester, calling at Yate and Cam & Dursley.”
