A MAN has been sentenced after attempting to meet a young girl at Yate railway station following grooming.
Craig Walters, aged 41, pleaded guilty to attempting to meet the girl aged under 16 following grooming during a hearing at Bristol Crown Court on May 1.
The incident occurred at Yate railway station on May 13, 2021.
Walters, of Tanners Court, Frenchay, also admitted one charge of possessing a pocket knife with a three-inch blade on the same day.
He was given a 14 month and 25 week jail sentence suspended for two years with 50 days of rehabilitation activity.
He was also ordered to register with Bridewell Police Station for ten years and a sexual harm prevention order was issued.
