A BEACON LIGHTING will take place at Tyler's Field in Yate to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
The event - organised by Yate Town Council - is on Thursday, June 6.
Musical entertainment will take place at 7pm with the beacon being lit at 9.15pm.
D-Day has been used for many different operations but is most closely associated with the Allied landings on Normandy’s beaches on June 6 1944.
