OFFICERS in Cirencester are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenager was threatened by a man with a knife last week.

Police were called with a report that a 16-year-old boy had been threatened by a man while on Cricklade Road at around 8.30pm on Sunday (2 June).

The victim stated that he was fishing in the river behind Tesco when he was approached by the man who went on to make threats while holding a knife.

The victim was not physically injured but shaken by what happened.

The offender was described as being a white man who was in his 40s and of a scruffy appearance. He had no teeth and was wearing a black baseball cap.

He was in possession of a bicycle and had a fishing rod and reel with a yellow tip.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident taking place or who may have dashcam/CCTV footage from the area.
